Wraparound Units

Sleepy Hollow has been providing wraparound childcare since 2004 within leading primary schools across NI. All of our wraparound units are fully registered with HSC Trusts in exactly the same way as our Day Nursery is. In partnership with schools we want to ensure that we are meeting the needs of working parents in both an affordable and practical way. The Department of Education wants schools to play a larger role in the childcare markets by allowing use of school facilities for wraparound and holiday care at times when the school is not using them.

We play a rental income to each school we are in which is primarily based on the numbers of children attending and in return schools re-invest this money back into the school estate. This therefore follows a social economy model. We also follow a playwork approach in all of our schools to meet the needs of school age children.

Our wraparound childcare facilities compliment and do not detract from extra-curricular activities already offered in schools such as sport or clubs for academic purposes, eg. extra study support or homework clubs. We also offer flexibility in terms of only charging for set days during term time and no retainers for days not booked during school holidays. We also don’t charge for bank holidays when we are closed. Therefore our social economy model meets the needs first and foremost of children, their parents and of course the school in terms of generating much needed income.

We offer a range of facilities in each of our schools.  We operate:

Breakfast clubs from 8am

Waiting Clubs from 2-3pm

Full afternoons from 2pm – 6pm

Holiday clubs from 8am to 6pm during all school holidays and exceptional closures*

Early school finishes to facilitate parent teacher meetings, end of term 12 noon finishes, teacher training etc.

Sleepy Hollow is always seeking to expand our facilities and are keen to work with forward thinking schools in order to meet the needs of their pupils and families. Schools, Boards of Governors, PTA’s or parents can contact us to arrange a meeting to discuss options for us opening in your school – just email info@sleepyhollowgroup.com to arrange.

*our holiday cover differs from school to school.  We are closed all of the main bank holidays and for one week between Christmas and New Year in all of our schools.
